Shoebury Common Flood Defence Consultation

What do we want to know?:

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council is conducting a consultation on proposals to build improved flood defences in the Shoebury Common Area.

The consultation will give residents and stakeholders an opportunity to see what is being proposed and share their views with the Council.

Description:

The public consultation runs from 15th April to 12th May and consists of: an exhibition at Thorpedene Library, Delaware Road, between 15th April and 10th May, where options will be illustrated.

A public meeting will be held at Shoeburyness High School Sports Hall on Monday 22nd April, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.  Council staff and specialist Advisors will be present to make a presentation and answer questions.

In addition, this short questionnaire provides you with an opportunity to indicate how strongly you support each of the flood defence improvement options being proposed.

Detailed illustrations of the 3 proposed options can be found under related downloads at www.southend.gov.uk/flooddefence.

Following this consultation period, your feedback will be used to inform the development of final proposals, which will then be subject to formal consultation as part of the planning process.
